For my birthday

My birthday is 68 days away...a long time I know...but my 8th graders are gone today on a field trip and I have all of my work done, therefore I'm looking on Etsy and telling you what I want. Even thought I didn't get anything I wanted from there for Christmas.

My students were working on a video/script project today for this extra reading we are doing in class along with Huck Finn. The assignment isn't important or interesting to non-teacher people but I thought what my students were talking about was hilarious so I share it with you!

Student A: Maybe we can make it in a state penitentiary!
Student B: Penitentiary, what's that?
Student A: You know, it's another word for prison.
Student B: YEAH IN FRENCH MAYBE!!

Okay maybe that's only funny to me, but I think it's funny when my students say silly things because they try to make up for not knowing something.

I would write something more serious but I really don't want to dig up all the BS that has happened to me in the past weeks. I've had some pretty trying times lately and I just don't want to think about them anymore. So on that note...I'm going to bed!
