Mini Update

I am short on time-Jeff and I are going to the mall just to walk around and get out of the house!

So exercise...ONCE again I am a complete failure! But I haven't given up hope. The diet portion of my 'lose baby weight plan' is going really well. I have started to eat more fruits and veggies and have cut out junk food during the week-on Saturdays and Sundays I can eat dessert, that doesn't mean I can go over board though!

As far as the exercise...I hurt my knee-pulled a tendon, so I haven't been able to do as much as I want. I have tried to keep as active as possible: cleaning, walking around town/mall/the house, dancing with Ellie, dancing by myself (shhh...that's kinda embarrassing)...and just trying to keep myself moving as much as possible. But every time I try to do any sort of intense or even moderate cardio my knee just seizes up and won't let me do anything; after that I am left in pain for days. No fear though! I should be okay to start working out more in about a week or so...

On a brighter note-I have noticed that my size 8 (eek...to me that is a very gross number) jeans are fitting A LOT better than they used to!

Baby weight

Is the hardest weight to get off ever...especially if you are not used to exercise. I haven't religiously exercised since college, instead of gaining the freshman 15 I actually lost 15 pounds AND was extremely toned and in shape *sigh the good ole days*. If I ever wanted to get back to that size and weight I would have to seriously work out for hours every day and really watch what I eat. I honestly don't think that will happen-I lose motivation very quickly.
Things I HAVE done this summer:
-been on my stationary bike a few times (not enough to call it consistent by any means)
-done a few crunches (again not enough)
-started to control portion size
-cut out pop (or soda if you prefer)
-started drinking more water
-started cutting out the every day sweets

Things I NEED to do this summer:
-go on the stationary bike 5 days a week for at least 30 minutes each time
-do the ab and arms workouts I've been looking at for weeks
-cut out sugary juice
-go back to being meatless (I didn't eat meat for 7 years and that was when I was the healthiest, coincidence? I think not!)
-eat more veggies and fruit
-incorporate some fun exercise that includes Eleanore-taking her for walks or lifting her up and down (she thinks that is hilarious)

So let's see if I can actually accomplish those goals. In order to keep track of when I actually work out, I am going to mark it on my calendar with an X each time I do it. I will take periodic pictures of the calendar to post on here to show you all of my progress as well!

Keep your fingers crossed :)

Big 4 months!

Ellie will be 4 months on Thursday! I can't believe that she is already that old...or young I guess?!
She is getting so so big-we have her check up appointment on Thursday and I am so anxious to see how much she weighs and how long she has gotten. She can't wear 3 month clothes anymore and but she is still a little too small for 6 month clothes, so she is in between sizes.

Jeff and I are adjusting pretty well to being parents. We have a lot of fun playing with Ellie, seeing her do her 'mini push-ups', roll from side to side and 'talk' or yell as the case may be at us. I just love waking up to see her smiling face in the morning-it makes the waking up for night feedings, losing sleep, wearing no make up, having messy hair etc...all worth it! She is my little love bug :)

Well...I will update probably after her doctor's appointment with all her stats and keep you updated on when she starts crawling which I think will be sooner than we know it!

Btw

I haven't updated in a while, but I swear I will once Ellie goes down for a nap!

2 Months Old!

Ellie is two months old today! I can't believe how fast these 2 months went by...so crazy!

She is starting to sleep better at night going about 5 hours, waking up and then going back to sleep for another 3. I still don't get as much sleep as I'm used to but it is definitely better than the waking up every 2 hours thing she was doing at the beginning!

Will update on her weight and height after her doctor's appointment on Monday :)

Quick updates

We started a complete bedtime routine.
We had to take the lil lady to the doctor today because her eye is just getting really gross. She has clogged tear ducts and apparently the yellow gooey discharge that she has been having is abnormal for a baby this age. So now we have to take her to the eye doctor next week to have it checked out-not excited at all.

On a good note she is gaining weight well-which for some reason is something the doctor seems so concerned about-she is 10 lbs 8 ounces! Little chunky monkey:) and everything else looks good so no physical abnormalities which is something he was also looking for since she has other issues like...

THROW UP! and lots of it-she finally threw up on Jeff for once today! But anywho-there are several possibilities as to why she is throwing up
1) she has acid reflux (this one is kinda iffy since she doesn't throw up after every meal nor does she even spit up after every meal)
2)she is too full-she doesn't poop as much on formula
3)she is developing a milk protein allergy
So we'll have to wait and see how this develops-at her next appointment we will reevaluate and quite possibly put her on soy formula.

And that is all for now, got to feed Ellie and try to put her back to bed!
